 A WORD FROM OUR DIRECTOR...

What a wonderful and full two weeks of school we all just experienced. The first couple of weeks went very well. Even though there were a number of tears, from both the children and parents, I pray that your overall feeling is one of satisfaction.

It is such a pleasure getting back into the swing of things with an awesome staff and with parents that truly care. God has blessed all of us with gifts and talents that we can put to use throughout this school year.

During our first staff meeting we talked about how everyone is an "essential piece" of a puzzle. It takes all of us to make things work. "A team player is a person who has the ability to relish the adventures with others." (Katie Brazelton)

This year is going to be a wonderful testament to God's love. Thank you for your support, prayers and encouragement.

My door is always open.

Blessings,
Julie

PPC UPDATE
by Cynthia Sanseverino

The Preschool Parents Club (PPC) is off to a great start with outstanding turnouts at both organizational meetings held this month! Dawn Zeschke is again leading the group this year, she is looking for a co-chair. Many events are planned to support our preschool, get involved with our community, and foster fellowship among our preschool families.

Tentative plans for the year include a Fall Festival Party in October, a book fair in November, monthly newsletters, organized play dates, Mom's Swap Shop and class yearbooks. Look for announcements and more information on the PPC bulletin board outside the preschool office.

Our major fundraising goal will be to finance a tarp for more playground shade that was lost to Hurricane Wilma.

If you're interested in becoming involved in any of these projects or want to learn more about the PPC, please attend the next meeting on Wednesday, September 12th at 9:15am in Fellowship Hall.

Minutes of the PPC meetings will be posted on the bulletin board outside the Preschool Office as well as on this website (click here).

 Newsletter Volunteers Needed
An easy way to get involved in the PPC is to volunteer for our newsletter. A great benefit is that most of the work can be done from home!
We are looking for contributors for the following columns:
Craft Corner -- easy craft instructions that parents can do with their preschool-age kids
Kids in the Kitchens -- fun, seasonal recipes that kids can help with
New Teacher Spotlight -- Each month we will feature new teachers and staff, with brief backgrounds, hobbies, and family info. The person(s) writing these articles would also need to take a digital photo of the teacher.
Photographer/Historian -- If you have a digital camera, and can be at school to take pictures of special events, you are the person for this job!

If you'd like to help in any of these areas, or want to submit an idea for a new column, please contact Cynthia Sanseverino.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR THE
NEXT NEWSLETTER IS SEPTEMBER 25TH.
